just received my HD service manual, very please with it so much very useful info.
and good therapy on these dark winter evenings just sitting and reading it, inspirational makes me want to get outside and tinker with my bike.

Yes, I bought my Sportster as NOS and had the shop manual thrown in as part of the deal. Then I bought the parts book and the electrics manual.
Wanna do your own maintenance, upgrades etc? Get 'em. And figure on adding tools to your collection.

I cracked a 2015 electric manual... for most operations you need to have the proper tool... not everyday you need it...
along with the bike (either the 2001 than the 2017) got the official FSM... that is fundamental... your service mate
not at the level of Jap ones i have owned though... according to me...
Imo no need for a part manual book since internet is loaded with plenty of microfiches... Ronnies for US citizens... other sites like the german Thunderbike for EU ones...

One of the discussions we had when I worked in Dealerships was including a shop manual with every bike sold. Figured that if we did we'd have to double the size of the Service Department...
