Default Warm Memories of Saskatchewan

Made it out in late Sept during the heat wave. Absolutely loved it! I loved the landscape and the roads with nobody for a hundred miles. Felt like going back in time to a much more simple world. Had trouble adjusting to the rainforest back home, wondering why I would leave such a fabulous place of golden horizons and big blue skies.

Ya, Saskatchewan is a place people want to go back to. Some beautiful country tucked away in that Province and some cold, cold winters to endure. Your pictures are great and the bike super!

Thanks Koot, I didn't end up thru the Kootneys that trip but never forgot I was going to show you the bike on the ferry. I will be through again in late June, what can you tell me about the back way thru the mountains to Kimberly? Does it exist? I see a connection on the backroad map but that isn't always reality.

The Gray Creek Pass exists, it's a logging road, dish-panned and rutted. The maintenance has gone down over the years (like many Kootenay roads) but it is useable. Might still be closed because of snow through June, kind of depends on the year. I can update you when the time comes.

Ya a lot of the gravel is deep and soft, ttricky to ride. I generally ride as fast as I can(mental defect) and changing ruts is f@#king scary!

Is there a thread that details the changes made to your sporty to turn it into a scrambler?
