congradulations.the bobbed fenders remind me of my 1960 XLCH when I bought 40 yrs. ago.that was a common thing to do in the 70's.

Default Welcome to the fourm

Horse shoe oil tank and finned primary cover sweet! When you. Go thru the magneto. Resist the urge to replace the coil the originals almost never go bad( no or weak spark is usually another issue)and the aftermarkets aren't as good youll find out quickly when replacing parts go o.e. even used oe cause its better than most of the aftermarket stuff and get your self a factory service manual and parts book they are your bibles

total loss charging system? Generator might be out and he put a small battery on it to run lights when needed. The magneto will run the bike fine with no other help needed. Lights are a separate circuit.

Great restoration potential or very nice as is. Nice machine! I would recommend sending the mag to Morris Magneto for an overhaul. They have some new coils in stock that are much better than the aftermarket ones previously available (I had one of those fail).
