Default 2 into 1 exhaust

Sporty Specialties advertises; as they call it, the only true 2 into 1 exhaust system on the market for an Iron Head. They say it boost horsepower too. Has anyone tried tthis set up, or is anyone currently running it?

A while ago I purchased 2 NOS 2-1 exhausts that I believe were originally made by Jardine back in the '70's. Very nice looking systems and I fitted one to my '78 and later swapped it to my '77 XLT. Lovely, deep rumbling sound without the harsh bark of my 2-2 slashcuts. But, my '78 has big valves, ported heads, R5 cams, 10:1 pistons, etc. and the 2-1 wasn't letting the motor breath well over 4k RPM. I went back to the 2-2's where my top end returned. I still have a new set of the 2-1's that I'll likely never use. Cost me $300 at the time. I'm keeping the used set since there's a scuff/scrape where my kicker hit the muffler before I re-bent the kicker arm. Here's a few pics of the 2-1 on my Ironheads.

Eric

That looks like it might do for my project.

Anyone know about any fit issues around this exhaust, were any heat shields offered?

I like the bend better on the 65487-79 pipe but I would have to hack the pipe to a right side only.....
