Default UK oil temp

One for UK members or those in similar climate ..

What oil temp are you running ? I was wondering out of curiosity as my Mrs was going to get me an oil temp dipstick as a prezzy but don't like the look of them and I have a pretty reliable hand held gauge anyway..

Yes I could look on older posts but don't want to scroll through looking where every reply came from ....

Cheers

I run at about 180 degrees according to my dipstick gauge

NEVER turn down a present for your Sportster from the wife.
Wait til she's asleep and whisper things like new pipes or something to her.
You never know..... it could work.

I live 20 km's from the UK (...from the ferry that is...) so pretty similar climate here. I don't know if those things really work well. It says 70C (158F) at an ambiant temp of 23C (73F). But after about 1 hour highway it said 80C (176F). When it was about 30C (86F) or higher here, it never reached beyond 90C (194F). So, I think it runs pretty cool.

Those are pretty much the figures I'v had on a few checks after a ride in similar temps... not sure I want or need one tbh. She ended up getting me a couple of gremlin bells instead as a present so got 2 bikes that sound like a cow when I push them out garage ...
