the picture of the forks from the pic you found online is correct. im sure im gonna get some haters on running a really early fork, but they look so sweeeeet. i heard they suck so we will see how long it lasts on there. the first axle i bought was not a harley axle, it was threaded some weird pitch and the dude didnt know what he had. i got another axle and it seems ok all the way in, but the biggest step up part sticks maybe a quarter inch thru the axle hole into the space between the legs. that part weirds me out. im not sure if the spacer is bored to hide that part. i just took my forks apart to clean them...... very gross in there. i remember thinking that the bigger part didnt have enough of itself in the axle hole in the fork... ill have them back together in a week or two, waiting on a dampner spring and ill double check the weirdness. if the bigger part of the axle seems like it has enough meat in the axle hole, maybe ill just machine off the extra part, cause after looking athese pics im sure i have the right axle.

The HEAD of the axle should protrude slightly from the inside of the fork - This is because the axle clamps everything else to the one fork - then the other fork has the pinch bolt to clamp that leg to the HEAD of the axle... You DON'T want the axle spacer (on the pinch bolt side) to be right up against the fork leg... The axle spacer should be up against the face of the HEAD, which protrudes slightly from the leg...

I think the pic I posted of the forks shows the HEAD of the axle protruding toward the wheel (space) from the fork? Yes?
