Good to hear there was a sort of happy ending...at last. Good luck with the build.

Good explanations aside, I have to wonder why it would take anyone so long to speak to you about the problem.
I suspect it might just have been the bad publicity this caused them.

I still have no idea why people think I'm going to live forever and it doesn't matter if they take months and months to supply me with what I've paid for.

Who knows, maybe, and it's all too common. The vintage motoring world is filled with businesses that operate somehow.

In this case, what is so shocking is the tremendous difference. The cams that came back were exactly what I expected the first time.

Any which way, this thread is now one type of truth about cam grinding.

Next time, I wait for leineweber.

I see it as a problem in the long run. As more and more "old school" type businesses close down there are less places for me to buy parts or get work done.
With the knowledge that disappears every time some grey beard dies and the bikes becoming "Rice Burners"* I have no idea what future tinkerers like us will do.
Bingo !
I should write an app that allows people to build Virtual Ironheads !

They could run them in places like Sim City.

* For those of you that missed it HD is closing down another plant and moving that manufacturing to Thailand. Made in Thailand - gotta be a rice burner doesn't it ?
