I am wondering, too, if this is the Primary Case drain or if you're talking about a factory sump plug drain that is tapered and NOT supposed to be removed, as it is almost impossible to get to re-seal. Understanding how a dry sump engine oils the engine helps a lot. They always have a small amount of dirty oil left in them when you change oil.
