Wanted: 27 Tooth Front Pulley 1995-2003 Sportster
Hi Folks,
Been away for a while now since I don't have my turbo Sportster anymore.
Son has a 2003 Buell XB9R which uses the weaker/funky one-year only drive belt.
We're looking to upgrade to the newer style so we need a 27 tooth front pulley from a '95-'03 Sportster.
Email is dakers1@twcny.rr.com since I don't come around here much.
Thanks for looking!

I assume the OP knows for sure that the Buell needs the 1995-2003 version.

You are correct, I need a 1995-2003 version - more specifically, I need part number: 40288-95
The 2003 year was the only year Buell used the smaller belt on the XB9R and we're looking to upgrade to the newer style belt for reliability.
@rocketmangb Thanks for looking.

I think the newer Sporties have gone to the narrower belt now and at one time Eric was giving a 100,000 mile warranty on his. Wasn’t aware that there was a reliability issue.

Edit: sportsterpaul, I just read your signature. Never have more truer words been written.
(My 17 year old daredevil son will be riding it)
This is his motorcycle that he worked and saved to buy and was run off the road less than one week after buying it. Was not his first machine, just his first Buell that he worked so hard to get. BTW, driver of SUV fled the scene and we're paying out of pocket to fix it.
Look up 2003 XB9R belt issues - only ran that belt one year on the XB.
Replacement belt is expensive, hard to find and weaker than the 2004- setup.
Attempting to future-proof the machine while it's apart since there's a chunk missing from current belt.

Good idea then, can’t be too careful as your son learned recently! Happy New Year.
