True racers most often don’t care whose name is on the side, whomever gets them to the start line is the flavor of the week. Have you ever seen a racer without a ride a week before the start of the season?? It’s a sight to see, much like the dopers waiting outside the methadone clinic before it opens in the morning.

GW, went to Flat Rock, Michigan, southeast corner of the State, for my first flat track race. Excited and found a place to stand up at the cyclone fence at the edge of the track. By the end of the evening Inwas absolutely filthy, was even hesitant getting into my car for the ride home. Spent the next morning cleaning the inside of the car!

Yep, lots of dust. When I was young, I was in a club that owned a flat track. I wore coveralls, when I was flagging.
