Default Electronic Ignition

Hi Folks,
I am looking to fit electronic ignition to my 1972 XLH 1000. As I only have experience with European motorcycles and ignition systems before this Sportster, I am looking for some assistance as to which system to buy.
The bike is as near stock as I can get it. (I live in Spain and we pay 30% tax on all imports from the US of A so I would like to get it right.) I have the idea to go twin plug head in the future, so if there is a system that can deal with one plug per cylinder now and twin plug per cylinder in the future, I would like to know about it. Or a place where I can find out about it.
Thanks for any in put.

The Crane Hi-4 http://69.20.53.62/ and the Ultima http://www.ultimaproducts.com/ignite.htm are popular choices.

I have the Crane Hi-4 and love it. Easy starting and you can adjust the timing curve to the type of riding you do. Also has the adjustable rev limiter.

Have had the Crane for years and am highly satisfied with it. Pretty sure you either get a single plug or dual plug version. Don't think one swaps back and forth between the 2 modes. I run a single plug singlefire version. With the adjustability built in I have no pinging problems with 93 octane pump gas and 9:1 compession.

Sorry Buck but you are mistaken, the Hi-4 can go from single plug to dual plug by just adding a coil and a jumper wire. So Charley you can switch the Hi-4 to run dual plugs in the future anytime you want.

No switch on the Hi-4 for dual plugs, and none needed. No switch for dual/single fire either - for this you have to get a different model. The Ultima is more flexible, has more options and settings, costs less.
