Default Cylinder head painting and battery and kick start advice

Hi, I've got a 79 sportster and I'm in the process of stripping it for a few mods to get it right for me. So currently the tank and seats off. So the bike won't be running for a good 3 months till all is finished. So I'm after painting the cylinder heads in a satin finish. Is there any advice on a long lasting paint, that I can use that do is heat proof but doest need cooking on, or any advice on a work round would be great.

Also I'm moving the battery under neath so am after a litium battery, any advice on a lithium battery code or amp range for me to look after ?

Lastly I'm going to fit a kick start but does anyone know the size to fit a 79, 15mm 16mm ?

Any help on any of these subjects would be fantastic help, tried search but can't seem to get it to work on my tablet.

I don't think you're going to find a heat-resistant paint that doesn't need cooking. However, you can cook the parts in your home oven without any trouble. If it won't go as high as you need for the third step, just turn it up all the way and call it good. Worked fine for me.

Rustoleum is my go-to for that sort of paint. You could probably use the 500-degree Engine Enamel (which does come in black semi-gloss) but I don't know for sure since I went with the 2000-degree High Heat.

For the kicker, I'd suggest searching by the OEM part number. Check the Stickies in the Ironhead section too - there's a great thread about eliminating kicker slip you should read.

Many Thanks BigMek, eneded up buying a 220 amp litthium, which after a bit of where can it live, im going to make a belly pan and place it in there. If youve got front controls on, the 220 litihum will fit in exactly, so exact you can actual wedge it in the and it'll stay, so ill make a belly pan and put in in there, keeps the back end clean. finished the swing arm stretch, ill get some photos up, go a 6inch stretch on it./ Got the 2000 temp paint and ill put it on a burn on as much as poss with a heat gun, once painted it not really going to get knocked, so should live till fire up day
