Yes!!!!! Thanks 100x million!!! I undid the switch side connector, took the wires out from the handlebar. Soldered the shorted wire back together as well as some other damaged ones. (I think I follow a correct prodcedure wasn’t just Willy Nilly) wrapped the lot in Self fusing tape and put it back into the handlebar. Now she RUNSSSS!!! First ride in a month yesterday was so amazing. Thanks again so much!!!

In the end (upon review), this prevailed as the path to the problem/solution. We got there using a less direct path, confirming operation of other parts of the system.
I hope 'J' verified/corrected any cut/shorted wire issue on the righthand handlebar as well. I'm glad he was able to get experience using his meter along the way.
