Default 99 sportster rims on a 09 sportster?

Is it possible to change the wheel bearings of 99 sportster rims to fit onto 09 sportster?
I bent the rims on my 09 and found some cheap ones in town to replace them but harley said I couldn't use them when I brought the wheels and tires in. I was wondering if there was any way I could change the bearings to work or make it work somehow?

Not really practical, pre 2000 Sportsters used Timken roller bearings and 3/4" axles, 2008+ has sealed bearings and 25mm axles...so it would be best to find 2008 to present wheels. FWIW brand new cast wheels are not horribly expensive, about $330 or so...installed a 16+ Roadster rear wheel on my 08. FWIW would sell my stock 08 wheel cheap but am a long ways from Reno (in Sonoma Co.)...
