Default Mounting seat with out frame tabs?

My 72 frame has had the seat mounting tabs cut off, which i guess was a popular thing to do at some point.
I do like the way cobra seats fit close to the frame without the tabs, but how are people mounting them? I have a Corbin solo seat, with a clamp that goes around the frame...but I don't really like that type of mount.
I dont want anything hokey looking, so is my best option to put tabs back on the frame?

VTwin may have seat tabs to weld back onto your frame.
