Bamalee, I love it! As someone who has done considerable research on the 18th century conflicts generally from the Ohio country east, the great grandson of locally (western MD.) significant Opessa, Tecumseh is a figure to be admired.

I've ran across the term "swan shot" often in research. My best guess is something closer to today's #4 buck. Any insight?

BTW - I agree on the locktime. My Shippensburg-style rifle is at least equally fast as a good quality percussion gun. Better than many.
