Default Tuners

I have a direct link tuner on my 2015 883 sportster with S&S 1200 conversion kit. I think it might be running a little lean but the guy that put the tuner in says it would have to be completely retuned to correct it at the cost of $650.00 Canadian. So I am thinking of getting a Power Vision from Hammer performance in the spring (if and when the border opens again) So my question is. Has anyone ever had problems with the Power Vision and how long do they last before problems arise

From what I understand the PowerVision or the V&H FP3 are devices that re flash a map on to your original factory ECU... Yes they can be left on, but also once they have done their job of flashing a new map, you can take them off and the re tune will still be active.
They are not piggy back devices that need to be left in place.

If you don’t plan to keep tinkering with maps, you maybe just as well to NOT buy any device, take the bike to a Dyno workshop with the pro tuner system and have them dyno, create a map and flash it to your bike

I put a Fuel Pak on when I when from slip-ons to tuned. Within the first few months, we ended you shutting down the entire low end mid power level.
Only running the last 6 switches. Thinking of pulling it off.

What model fuelpak do you have ?

I know nothing about any FuelPak’s lower than the FP3, so if your Fuepak had switches it must be an earlier version than FP3. I have done internet search and only find FP3

The FP3 is controlled via Bluetooth and I don’t think it has switches on it.
Once it has flashed your map to ECU you take it off anyway if you want.

I just looked up ‘Direct Liink’ Tune

And from what I am reading, and someone may correct me, but a Direct Link Tune to your bike does not actually leave anything on the bike. You don’t have an actual ‘tuner’ device on the bike.
A Direct Link Tuner would be the person doing the tune-up rather than a device. If my understanding is correct you will have been given a USB Stick with your Tune Data and serial number etc.

Maybe if you are not happy with the tune he did, find another Direct Link tuning centre and see if they will give a better price.

If you want to tweak it and do it yourself on your phone, go with FP3, or if you prefer doing the mapping on a computer use the PV system.

All my words here are only theoretical though, as I have just bought my first EFI bike and doing lots of reading about it all.

Check Kinek, they have a redirect service and cost is much cheaper than the out of country price of the vendors.
