Because it's cheaper and easier to dispose of than large quantities of solvents or what ever else you might use otherwise. People act as though a quick rinse with water is suddenly going to encourage rust formation but if you're flushing your tank to remove rust and debris then guess what, it's already there, the damage has already been done. Blow dry the tank out and fill it up with petrol or go the safe route and just Kreem the inside of it.

And yea, I also remove mattress tags.

I posted this on another thread, but there is no screen on the petcock pipe ! and my inline filter is clean, so I ordered an new OEM petcock and I'll eventually clean out and rebuild the old one for a spare.....
