Default Indian FTR Sales

I wonder if the Indian FTR is selling as well as the XLCR, XR 1000 and XR 1200 sold.

I don't like the Polaris Indians. I'll be up front about that. It's not the bikes, so much as it is the attitude that Indian is projecting. I don't care for the restrictions they've put on contingency money for teams using their Flat Track bikes, and I really get annoyed when they call themselves "America's First Motorcycle Company" The only thing they have in common is the name Indian. They're bragging about their "Long Heritage" when they haven't been in existence for a decade yet. I wonder if their board of directors consists of politicians?

I also don't like what they did to Victory. People shit on the MoFoCo because they screwed Buell; but Polaris did the same thing to Victory after saying that Indian was going to be their Cruiser company, while Victory was going to be their Performance company, and it slides on by without comment.

Anyway, I have yet to see an FTR on the road. I hope Polaris takes a real bath with it.

I agree. The 'Indian' brand is meaningless to so many people in this day and age.

Claiming to be the "Oldest" doesn't wash with me either. It wasn't 'Indian' at first. The Hendee Manufacturing Company changed it's name in 1923 to Indian Motorcycle Company. And again, no Indian motorcycles were produced after 1953 until the 1999 rebirth of the brand. So how do they get away with counting the dead years?

So it's kind of like a five time divorcee saying they were married 50 years ago and are married now. Not the same thing as celebrating your Silver Anniversary at all.

I also don't like what they did to Victory. I really respected some of the bike they were producing in styling and capability at a competitive price point. Indian is priced 20-30% higher and the styling is retro gauche.

Yet to see an FTR in the UK. What they did with Polaris was the same GM & Ford did killing off Pontiac & Mercury leaving dealers & customers in the brown stuff. indians are a rare sight over here, HD must outsell them 10 to 1.
Indian might be beating HD on the race track but it's the race out of the showrooms that matters most

I've seen a couple on the roads and when I asked about buying one all the 2019's were presold before delivery. Of course the number Canada was to be receiving was less than 20. Not sure about the 2020's though.
