Your not with the D.O.T. are you ?
Only one cop ever caught on (warning), some ATGAT RUBer who thought 'cause I spent as much on gear as you on your bike, you should to!' [Many think that way, he had his own decent bagger I saw him around on, but it was a bit to polished if you know what I mean, guess I shouldn't make assumptions about the dude, but he is a cop -\_o_/- ]
If anyone is wondering about the scratches, it was my Dad's when we collided when I was 11, and it's much older than that. I'd never let my kids wear it, but I love it. It's the only one I have really clicked with. I have this monster (for Pullman with the ATGAT cop above)
But the sound is so different. I've tried other "brain buckets" too, but they're all .... idk poof. I'm sure they're safer, but nothing beats the minimal effect of the old illeagal deathtrap brainbucket

Reason: it seems we're all playing legal, so I guess all the above references are jokes or dreams

I like it, one's own risk is thier business imo, but it's good to have a backup for harder riding/ savvy cops
Does it say "dot" on the back, seems all the rage these days for some reason

I got all the satire in your previous post IHR, and I even tried to "LIKE" your post and your humor but unfortunately I don't do Facebook and it appears that's the only avenue for "Liking" a post here!
I can't really be sure at this stage of the game; but that old brain bucket I posted could very well have began its life as a police motorcycle helmet and may in fact predate DOT helmet ratings. Some states, like mine, still don't require a helmet at all; let alone a DOT Approved helmet.
For some reason I can't really explain, I somehow feel more at risk and much more vulnerable on my Sportster since I've been riding it almost everyday. I don't know if it's the size of the bike, its barely adequate lighting and visibility, or perhaps it's more in the way I tend to ride the Sportster, that made me spring for some new headgear recently.

I'll have to get back to you on my findings (haven't tried the full face DOTed one yet) but I may be riding a different animal (ridged jammer frame chopper), she's definitely small, but has a presence, you almost can't tell until you put her next to another bike.
I feel safer on motorcycles because of my intermediate competency on them. There's always more to learn, but unless someone is deliberately after be I can always speed up, slow down, swerve, ect.
But again, I need more American Iron practice in traffic. I may find a situation that scares me into a DOTter.
Of course thus us all hypothetical or in Idaho or something. I am a total AllTheGearAllTheTime guy with a full body leather parka and a helmet over my helmet (seems like folks are minding there p's and q's, maybe need to scope the rules again, better safe then sorry)
Mine predates the requirement too, used to be legal, actually thought it may be grandfathered until the cop told me different.
Also, mo worries about the "like thing" I am almost degoogled myself and don't care one bit for imaginary internet points. A man's word should be judged on its contents (one reason I love thus forum, home distiller, stack exchange, growing sites, and ithers get into tropes that they follow and going against them is bannable. People here are generally open minded and feel you out based on your words, which us how it should be.

I dig the striping.
I have one of them microdot brain buckets...
it's supposedly DOT approved, and the first half helmet i've found that doesn't look like a giant mushroom.
Best thing is it's super light, and comfortable, which means i actually wear it.

Those are awsome, how? And so cheap wtf is wrong with the shops around here. I may just have to go legal one if these days. You've shown me the way sir. (Especially with "insurance requirements", makes my blood boil )
"Yeah, we designed our cars to break if you sit on them wrong, so the whole motorcycles cause less damage thing is out the window. Plus we have a secret plan to eliminate all the good old vehicles; thus we total cars you can drive home, so you bikers (who haven't turned your machines into paper mache) have to pay"
Sorry, end of rant, these helmets are the closest I've seen to mine. Ever (unless that dude has a very funny shaped head, but you vouged for them, so you both would need to have wierd domes)

the dude in all of the microdot pictures, is the dude from SkootDog in Ft Worth.
can find him on youtube...
I have an Oval head, so i got the Twister 2.0, and while it's comfortable, i think the "reversibility" is overrated, as i don't like the straps over my ears.
I ended up adjusting the straps so they frame my ears when the brim in the back.
There's also Crazy Al's, and Beanie Helmets.

Much appreciated, after alot of shopping (in person, I was specifically seeking a full face [it was getting cold, but I did scope the buckets at every shop] so it had to fit perfectly) and was under the impression all legal lids had the poof. But I could probably get away with a brain bucket order online (as the straps can sort if act as an adjustment and I can wear a hat under if needed)
Do you find them undersized, on par, or oversized when compared to other helmets you have bought (basically, did you get the impression ordering a bit large or small would behoove one?; [ I hate online shopping, seen "large" clothes that are too small for my 8 yo girl lol])
Reversability lol, they actually have a well profiled legal lid, and they think they need a gimmick?! I'm shocked these guys aren't all over the chopper and motercycle forums.

The size is spot on, since the foam will mold to your head.
I used one of those fabric tapes, and measured right above the ear.
i'm right on the line between L and XL, so i went up to XL and it fit perfectly out of the box, which means i should've gone smaller. it's supposed to be a bit snug at first, so it can mold.
I know the Crazy Al helmets have been around for years, and sell out at every rally they attend.
