Can anyone tell me whats been done here?
I have been working on a basket case 1980 sportster with a 1979 motor bike was pieced together haphazardly for sale, ive done all the wiring oil lines top end etc.
Noticed tonight after installing chain there was not much clearance between chain and tire. Then i notice the shocks are bolted on beside the shock mounts!
Can anyone tell me what's going on with this rear wheel there is not proper clearance to move the shocks where they belong
Any help greatly appreciated
After typing all this i realise im not permitted to post photos will reply with a link to pics

Someone just spaced them out to make room for these covered shocks. Nothing that cant be fixed with the correct shock.

I believe the wheel flanges are at different heights, hence why the disc side looks so far out in comparison to the chain side. That is also why your valve stem is on the wrong side, and could be ripped off by the chain.
