Default Sent my seat to Sargent for redo...

‘17 Roadster with Reach seat, should have gotten Super Reach seat with pillion. It says right in the accessory catalog Super Reach is for 5’ to 5’4”, missed that (I'm 5'3")... Moving the rise 1-1/2” forward, widen and dish the rear, dish the front, super cell foam and of course recover. Hopfully the wife’s comfort level will increase. I don’t want/ can’t justfy a touring bike. Just shipped 2 days ago, it will arrive there Wednesday or Thursday. I’ve wanted to do a Sargent on the last 3 or 4 motircycles. I will keep you posted...

I'd like to try one someday also, seems people are always happy with them. Let's see some pics when you get it back!

Far as I'm concerned the Sportster IS a touring bike. I've made many multi day trips on mine and last year the wife and I did a 2000 mile weeklong trip along the Ohio river 2-up and camping. Averaged over 50mpg too.

Yup I always get over 50mpg, 2 tanks just over 60 mpg measured. Supposed to ride to Colorado next summer camping (...again but 1st time on this bike). I need to get my trailer hitch done by then so I can tow my Bushtec. Makes camping/traveling a lot easier. Big reason for dual discs and ABS...

Guess I’ll try the pic posting again when it comes back...

Did a three week, in August, 15 State 7,177 mile run out West, guessing that’s as close to touring as I can get. Oh, on a Mustang seat. Curious about your Sargent.

Mustang Seats have incredibly good reviews but all I’ve read raises you up and back a bit. That’s a no go for me. This is my first motorcycle out of 26 I can flat foot and at my age I’m liking it. The last 2 I’ve had slow moving parking lot tip overs. Lots of plastic body parts that get slightly scuffed also. It sounds as though Sargent will cater to my needs a little better... We’ll see...

My seat is on it’s way back to me and my trailer hitch is about half fabricated... We have a trip to visit my inlaws scheduled from Christmas day to New Years day which will delay seeing my seat until we get back.

I got my seat and sent it back to Sargent for adjustment, got it back again with maybe a bit of disappointment. It crowds the rigid uprights for my backrest and luggage rack. Kind of worries me for a possible rub through. I will install door edge guard that will hopefully alleviate my concerns. The seat is top notch craftsmanship otherwise, is it comfy? I won’t know that until riding season. I think it looks good. I’ll work on pics when my trailer hitch is complete, down to wiring and paint on that. Can’t wait to utilize my “Long Haul Roadster”
