I always prepare my longer posts off line using a text editor, then Copy/Paste them to here. Yes, so I'll be keeping that link so I do not have to type it in each time

There is a space limit which I am close to, and other limits because it is an HTML based site not one using their site builder software. I started that website with my home computer being the server back in the 90s, after Bulletin Boards went out and before site building software was available

I'm with Bustert and use my own site.

It gives me redundancy in that the pics/docs I want are there id my home pc crashes and burns. Off site storage. I have backups, (multiples) as well.

PB is just another example of ransomware.

If my host provider starts giving me grief I can just buy space elsewhere and move everything bolus bolus.

Many hosting services will give you an introductory rate but want to double the rate after 1 or 2 years. No worries, I just use another provider. Because the domain name belongs to me that never changes. So my links to pics/docs never change either.

I use my web site for other things as well. Comes in handy as a Dropbox when I need to send video files (which are usually too big to email) to someone. I just email them the link.

I pay around $90 AUD (about $63 USD) a year.

Working on Sticky threads. Got started, got many updated to my Google, many more to go. I keep a list in a text editor and place an X when I have updated any of my pics in that thread.

Somebody could but not me I only occasionally used script languages when I was doing computer programming, and that was 20+ years ago. Since I am [hopefully] doing this process once only, easier to just work thru it.

Here's my checklist. I have worked thru all Sticky threads where I have posted and changed the photo links from PhotoBucket to Google Drive I did not use Google Photos as you cannot upload there a complete nested structure of pics at one time.

There are still many threads where I have posted that are not in the Stickys. I'll work thru these as time goes by, especially as members notify me of missing links.

I can only update my own threads as I cannot access other members PhotoBucket accounts. Note also that I do not even want to do others work as it is very tedious - please do your own

I used the PhotoBucket App on my Android device to delete all of my files from PhotoBucket; and then I deleted my account using my desktop computer. Done.

I still have all of my files on my Google Drive account and on my computer, so I will continue to l re-link missing photos. Please let me know of any that you come across.
