I bought a pair of progressive 412 HD I think they were 13" that was one of the best things I did as far as helping the handling. Right back and then increased the fork springs rate with a progressive HD set of springs if you haven't done that already you should because they handle night and day in difference.

Stopped in at the shop today. After pulling the heads to replace the rocker cover gaskets the owner said the motor looked gently used and ready to go. Sheet metal is in the paint shop. It will replicate the original color scheme with the 3.2 gal. Sportster tank and a matching gray panel with gold pin stripes on the hack. Now I need to decide on the tank emblem - liking the traditional bar and shield in dark gray & black to match the XLS color scheme. Onward and upward!

It is geared 19:43 now, which is indeed higher than I want for a hack. I will be replacing the rear sprocket with one at 45t. With the 72 cu in S&S Stroker kit (~ 4.5" stroke) torque isn't a problem The Sifton Scorpion cams work real well in the lower RPM range and really wake up @ 3300. The Andrews close ratio gearset works with the cams like it was made for that specific application.
I am really looking forward to seeing how the sporting state of tune works with the hack. Should be a lot of fun.

Where did you find a 43 tooth rear sprocket
