My buddy noticed it was quieter immediately. Could be subjective, could be adjustment of the chain, but I'll take it.

Now it's just a matter of waiting for the seat to be covered. I had a local shop add some rear bolster in behind my keister so I wouldn't slip off the seat and they used a grippier fabric for the tuck and roll center section.

I'll post a couple of pics to do with that later.

Just wanted to chime in with the realization that Sportsters are decently tough bikes and they make noise. Looking forward to the wind reduction that the new fairing provides based on a quick jaunt out with the bike.

don't stop til she's chopped
Great news! Have you installed the upgraded HD oil pump? My bike is an 04 and I just did it last weekend.

Sure did! Video install was a breeze. It’s back there in the archives of the thread.

Decided to share a few pics and bring it up to speed. Since the bike was done and I’m hunting for a new lid, I thought I’d decorate these ones.

Also in there is a rough iPhone sketch of the seat and what it’ll look like stitched up (very rough like MS Paint rough)

Also cleaned up the wiring even more in the m unit.

Just need the seat and they’ll be sayin “there goes the neighbourhood”

Thanks John. That’s high praise considering your work. I appreciate it.
The mark of a good seat is one you don’t have to move around in at all. Finally got that sweet point between form and function. The middle section has vinyl that’s a bit grippier. I never realized how much difference that makes with these engine kits.

Funny you mention that. I’ve been wanting to explore an (whispered) electric build. Probably something like a café style to keep the weight down and try and get the battery case to look like a v-twin. Could involve some 3d printing. I dunno just spitballing currently, but I’ll still keep the bike for braps ‘n naps
