How do you "unsubscribe" from a thread?

I can't figure out how to unsubscribe from a thread.
If I open a thread and go to "Thread Tools", there is a "Subscribe" option but no "Unsubscribe" option.

Go to your User CP (top left of the forums/thread page)

On the Left-hand side look for "Subscriptions"

Also, in the USER CP you can choose "edit options"

Default Thread Subscription Mode
When you post a new thread, or reply to a topic, you can choose to automatically add that thread to your list of subscribed threads, with the option to receive email notification of new replies to that thread.

Do not subscribe (one of several options in the drop-down box)

Ok, I have gone through that and I do understand how not to subscribe to a thread in the first place.
My issue is that I am subscribed to a very busy thread that I would like to unsubscribe from. I'm still looking for that unsubscribe button.

I figured out a workaround... I deleted all of my subscriptions and added the ones that I wanted to keep back in. I'm new here and only had a few. Thanks for the help!

Go to your User Control Panel ('User CP', top left on the top menu).

Look at the 'New Subscribed Threads' section. At the bottom of that section, click on 'View all Subscribed Threads'.

Select the threads that you want to unsubscribe from. Change the action at the bottom from the default of 'Move to folder…' to 'Delete Subscription'. Click 'Go'.
