For posterity, I'd just like to add that you don't ever need to file the rivets down. You should keep peening them with a flat punch until they're completely flush with the ear. You also need to check the side clearance of the roller and keep peening until the clearance stops decreasing (Usually about 10 or 12 thou, depending). The side clearance should end up being the same as the difference in width between the race and the roller. The goal is to make sure that the ears are tightly and completely trapping the race, so that it won't have any chance to spin. If the race is allowed to spin, the rivet, which is just soft metal, will quickly wear away and the roller will fail.

Absolute positive advice right there, and as another sidenote where do the filings happen to go? think they might migrate to the needles??
