so here is what was going on with this. Turns out I had a stroker motor and didn't know it. Because of that, the barrels and heads were raised with spacers to make room for the larger travel of rods and pistons. Since the heads and barrels were raised, that seperated the heads and intake further apart.

I have a lose rod so I'm going to be taking the motor apart, replacing the stroker crank with a stock one, replacing the rods and pistons, and getting rid of the spacers... bringing the motor back to stock. That should aliviate the issue with the intake manifold not being aligned correctly.

I know you all have your opinions on why i should keep the stroker, but I have mine as to why I don't want it.

S&S make their intake manifolds in various sizes. 0 (Zero) being the one required for stock engines up to 4 (at least - maybe 6) This is to accommodate the various widths founf with engines that have taller than stock cylinders. The number is stamped on the flanges for easy identification.

I would keep the stroker. The difference in torque between a well set up stroker and a stock engine is major. It takes a fair bit of money, time and effort to build one. I can't understand why anyone would spend time, effort and money to build a "less fun" engine.

In this particular case "Less is NOT more."

You might then consider selling the stroker and buying a stocker.
