Good looking bike! Welcome to the forum.

I used to have clutch drag issues with my 74 despite any adjustments. I KNEW how to adjust a clutch!

Then I read the procedure in the FSM and guess what? I DIDN'T know how to adjust a clutch!

Shifted smooth as budder after that!

Thanks all for the very warm welcome & kind words.

I promptly ordered the Donny's Tech Guide, appreciate the link to that.

Looking around now for an exhaust, the videos I have of the bike running the open pipes is just too much I think, tight quarters here in the city and all.

Wondering now if the tank is naked and needs decals or if it's just right as is...we'll see what it gets here.

I also received my 2piece buckhorn bars and the two tone seat.

All my searching for different seats turned up plenty of the buddy seat, but none for the 52012-66 that is seen on this site

https://www.harleykmodel.com/technic...ddy/index.html

Is that a hard one to come by?

I also like the look of the solo + pillion...feel like I need another sportster already...

BMI has both solo and the white Italian 2-up seats. I have them both. The solo seat is in the neighborhood of $35 and the 2-up seat I think I got it for like $85 on ebay. It doesn't have the cast aluminum handle on the back, rather the chromed steel tube one. Not as nice of course. The solo seat also could use a reupholster with real leather; that's what I plan on doing. The vinyl isn't so high quality. it's worth getting just for the pan though.

I also got the big police style un-upholstered seat pan on ebay for $40 a year or two ago and he may still have them but the last time I looked the seller stopped carrying them. It was kind of hard to find in the first place.

That's the goal, clean and simple.

Thanks for that link, I wish they had tapered chrome or better yet a satin finish. I like the look of a no chrome bike.

I was looking at these too but something is off about them, rear pipe is missing a section?

Ya my buddy seat has the cast handle, I'll run that for a while at least. The black/white seat was one of the first things caught my eye and made me notice the early sportster's but I've since been deep down the rabbit hole...cool bike no matter what (just about), really can't wait for it to get here.
