Default What year wheels will fit on my ironhead ?

Rebuilding a 75' sportster but wheels are rough . I can't afford to spend 1k on wheels . What weeks will all work with the ironhead ? Also if I decide to swap drum brake for disc , then what wheels fit

Any pics? What are the problems you are facing? Are the rims rusty or what? Maybe you just need rims and the spokes are still good as are the hubs. Buying complete wheels on ebay can be spendy too. What is it you need to change? Or maybe even what you have can wait for now.

Four wheels move the body. Two wheels move the soul. Three wheels move the bowels.

Mag wheels don't rust.....

Switching to disc rear brake is a pretty big bite (engineering wise).

A front disc brake would be far more desirable (as you might actually be able to stop then).

Almost all of the 3/4" axle wheels can be made to fit the rear (NOTE: A rear wheel has 3/8" bolts for the sprocket/pulley). You're going to need to pay attention to the spacing and come up with a caliper & mount that you can integrate. Hardtail caliper bracket will need a tab welded on the swing arm to anchor it.

I have a set of LESTER cast wheel that will fit 74-77 Sportys

also brake hub and sprocket with very low miles

These are CAST wheels

Not MAG wheels.....which are made from magnesium....

Unless you are buying original Halibrands for a Cobra or GT-40 or some other race car the wheels you buy are a 99.9999999999% probability of being cast or forged aluminum

PM for price

They are listed on C/L Greenville SC

I did the rear drum-to-disc swap......

total including NOS Lester wheel, 1979 oem M/C and linkage and sprocket cover, HEL line, Wilwood 4-piston caliper, rotor and mount, anchor and special made spacers to use an FX 16" disc brake rear wheel at Pete Hills shop and you are looking at close to $1000.00

You can check the IH Wheels page in the Sportsterpedia.
There are part numbers and particulars on the different wheels per year model.
These are just part numbers on the wheels but gives an idea when things changed.
