I was out riding again - On the road by 8am to avoid the heat (& thunderstorms) of the afternoon sun.

I did encounter a few drizzly minutes of riding while in the mountain area.

During my ride I visited the King's Gap Environmental Center. It has a great view over the Cumberland Valley.

It was a great day to enjoy my KooL Therapy!

Default Riding....

Happy for you Ken, but I’ve been immersed in bathroom rebuild for what seems forever. I’ll make up for it shortly but will enjoy your roadwork until then. Thank you!

Glad to have you along - I was riding again today with my brother - It was a great day to be in the wind.

I planned to visit 3 more covered bridges - Here's one of them:

Along the way, we happened upon this backyard display of auto art - You just never know what you'll see:

And here's a picture of me riding west on Rt17 - Throwing my arms up in total immersion, to be absorbed into the surrounding beauty:

(Lest you think I was using a very long selfie stick, this pic was from my brother's video camera.)

Beautiful scenery.
I have a friend who has a 'boneyard' full of old Chevy's.
He and some others have had their cars shown in movies.
I just melt when I walk the boneyard seeing all the potential masterpieces sitting there.
Just like in your pic, all I see needed is some paint, tires and a tank of gas.

Thanks again Ken, just popped in on your Chronicles, always brings a smile to my face. Thinking I need to make a run East and touch bases with some of my “extended family” a ride with you and your brother would be great!

Hey Paul - If you make it this way, just send me a heads up and you can place an order for the kind of places you want to visit. If you want, you can pick from what you've seen in my pics and we'll plan a ride to make it happen.

Here's the North Oriental Covered Bridge taken from my video footage when we visited there on our most recent ride. My brother is riding his 2009 Kawasaki Vulcan 500 LTD.

Well - It's been awhile since I posted on this thread. There are a number of reasons including a New Tire & New Brake Pads:

I've been ignoring (or monitoring) an oil leak for quite a few months... Seemed like it came from behind the oil tank - I thought maybe an oil line problem... So I've been putting off the task of tracking it down...

My annual inspection came due in July and I needed a new tire - And the rear brake was beginning to fade (I think due to the oil leak)... So I parked the bike and ordered new tires - but the excess heat of July & August just made working on the bike seem like purgatory... I did remove the seat, fender rack & battery, then washed down the bike trying to remove as much excess oil crud as possible.

Finally, this week I removed the wheel & had a new tire put on. While the tire was off, I put on new brake pads ( I hate running pads all the way down to minimum thickness ).

I looked at the oil hoses - Everything is tightly packed on these models so it's hard sometimes to see propery. But I could not find anything that looked amiss with the oil lines. BUT - I did find that the rear rocker box lid had both rear bolts loose and I'm fairly sure that was the leak... With my fingers crossed, I will keep an eye on that to see if all is well now...

Anyway - that was a long-winded way of saying I'll be posting some more ride reports now - Hopefully enjoying some nice fall weather, too...

Good that you found the problem. Hopefully that's all it was.
I need to get off my arse and buy some parts.
Been a long summer.

I was finally out riding again - I missed all of August - But it was mostly too hot...

On my ride today I found this new tree sculpture - It's a very nicely done carving.

I'm still chasing a small dripping oil leak - I think it might be from the short oil drain hose - I'm going to put a worm clamp on each end to see if I can stop it...

I was riding in the Gettysburg Area this fine Fall day - The temps were in the upper 60's & lower 70's as the day wore on. It was a typical mid-September day.

What a beautiful blanket of blossoms across this picture perfect panorama!

On my way back from Gettysburg, I discovered this wonderful stone arch bridge.

I visited a number of places/monuments on the battlefield today.
You can see all of them in My Motorcycle Chronicles.

Here's the monument to the 5th Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry Regiment.
