This needs to be double checked. The #4 cam in a '74 is longer due to the tach drive gear. The tach gear is pressed on. Possibly it can be taken off a later # 4 pressed on the earlier cam? I don't know the answer.

Only way you could run the cams from the 900's is to use a pre 70 cam cover.

I did this recently on my 79. Found new aftermarket on Ebay. $39 for both rotors and pads. Look fine to me.

I had a LOT of trouble getting the old colts out. You may have the same experience. Lots of heat and a short impact allen key.

Buy new bolts in advance. You will need them.
