Mine doesn't come out in the spring til after a couple hard rains to wash the salt off the roads either.
I don't spray anything in my cylinders. I run it around block after changing the oil to park in the garage. Enough to circulate the fresh oil and treated fuel.

Riding season in Texas is 12 months a year. I lived in the Chicago area for 59 years, so I know all about the dreaded winter. I still rode when the streets were dry. Gotta love Texas!!!!

Depends on where you are in TX, I spent a winter in Amarillo and wouldn't wish that weather on anyone. I spent 15 years in Houston and much like we do in Florida, we parked our bikes in the summer and waited till September/October until it wasn't so brutally hot (even for water cooled bikes it gets risky) and would ride till May.

Hoping to ride as much as possible until snowfall... then after salt is washed away.

Default The wasted months

Good thread gang lots of fine tips. Thanks for the detailed list at the top Ironmick.
I’m still riding a little here in Nova Scotia but see fewer bikes out by the day. The Credit Glide crowd hereabouts packed it in 6 weeks ago. I see some ‘adventure bike’ people riding around but pretend not to.
I will get out once in awhile over the wasted winter months. Other than that I eat breakfast with my local vintage bike club pals and tell lies til spring. Weather fluctuates here between deep freeze and Jean jacket weather. Spring theoretically starts in the spring...
Salt is our enemy!
And ice at times.
And bad drivers.

I lived in Minnesoooota for 26 years, I know winter. I live in So. Cal now and it just
gets chilly enough for the sporty to run real crisp. I do bundle up however.
