Might as well be the end. I wouldn't call the new shit a sportster anyway.
Making anything EU compliant will be the death of it.

Sportster and EU compliant is an oxymoron.

She might have another year or two left in her, but the current incarnation of the Sportster will most likely be dead soon, barring they find a way to rehash the current air cooled mill to make it emissions compliant, but I don’t think the current engine platform can be pushed any further in that direction.

I’d like to see a brand new air cooled mill that is emissions compliant, like the BMW R9T. Or even a liquid cooled mill that looks exactly like the air cooled one, like the Triumph Bonnies. I like the Revolution engine, but it would definitely look better in a bike like the Bronx, not in a Sportster body.

After looking at the new sportsters all I can say is Harley must have found a good deal on black paint cuz I didn't see a hint of a chrome fastener or any other shiny stuff. This blacked out theme doesn't work for me

If my only option in the future for a new bike will be liquid cooled, overhead cammed, high maintenance, high tech bikes, I might as well get a japanese bike.

Harley will have lost one more buyer if Sportsters bite the dust.

Shoot. If you want your panties in wad. Keep you up at night.

Imagine trying to find gas when all electric kicks in.
Might have to convert your gas tanks to use propane.

Gas motors are gonna be the dinos of the future. Matter of time is all.

Si.
If i wanted to get angry about stuff I would watch the news.

Things change. I have what I enjoy and am old enough to see the end of my riding

No brain
No pain

This is a done deal. The Revolution Max platform bikes will be released in the EURO5 markets, Harley will sell the existing Sportster in the US market until emissions laws change or they can no longer empty your wallet selling you accessories to make one of the 3 models the bike you really wanted.. The Revolution Max bikes are coming.

I don't get angry about it.
I get a bit sad to think of the ending of an era, and a bit happy that I was able to be a part of it.
I'm old enough that I might not see the new electric changeover.
