Crash Bar
I’m going to order a crash bar for my sportster. I looked at the install video on YouTube and like the look.

Crash bars look fine though I don't like them personally.

The bottom bolt holes are a cross member on the frame already tapped. The top holes are shared with the engine mount. The bar comes with longer bolts.
HD tells you they are not crash bars and will not protect you. They call them engine guards as in protection from dropping the bike at low speed or when stationary.
I have the basic no frills one on my bike.

I think they're kinda ugly, but I'm old & it makes it a lot easier to pick up when I drop it.

I took my engine guard off the Sportster and the LowRider didn't have one. Thought about getting or making a Bung King style, they look good and work.
