2011 Rusty's Iron "BO883R"
Hello everyone,
I just arrived on this forum (feb-21) and wished to share with you some pictures and news about my sporty.
A little background first: I bought her last year, around 25000km (15500 miles). She was pretty stock except for the stage 1 (screamin' eagle performance exhausts and big air flow filter). It seems the bike has been poorly serviced/used cause I've found a few broken threads, rust in several places, broken wires, overtorqued screws and so on. I'm also convinced it's been dropped at low speed on the floor (left flank). Anyway the bike is in an overall acceptable state, engine is right, handling is good and it was very well priced if I consider some of the mods it had.
How she looked like when I took her back home :
Among interesting mods it had a stage 1 (even if I planned womething else), full LED turn signals front and rear, chopped fenders (not a big deal but less to do), 412 progressive suspensions 11 inch, lowered front forks, forward controls and side plate.
How it looks today :
Presently it looks like a bicycle because I'm moving and fixing the complete electrics. I've changed several things including :
- inspection, derby, timer cover plates
- switched to narrow drag bars
- new hand grips (Avon)
- LED daymaker-like headlight
- KN air fliter + VH shortshots
- FP3 tuning and autotune sessions
- shortened side stand
- switched for a LePera seat (planned to customize it)
- ignition relocation + 1.5 inch tanklift
- aesthetical details (screws, black paint, tank cap, and so on)
- compact lithium battery (Antigravity 1201)
I've found a very good painter to customize my bike, here is the result before I reinstall the part :
I realised I could switch the BBE letters (from BOBBER word) with the actual engine size of my bike (883cc), this explains the BO883R on the tank (and this is her name now).
Overall I planned to customize it in a very classical bobber style, low profile, black and a few touches of chrome, highlight the engine (remove all the plastic-shit).
Here is a view of the engine after ECM relocation, I chose to place it on top of the battery :

Hi and welcome! Great intro! I love the paint and the bobber/883 mash up. Cheers

What tires are those? I am checking out tire selections in 4wheelonline. Planning to order a set for my 2014 Harley-Davidson XL1200T Sportster SuperLow.

Hi, these are a set of Michelin Commander II, but I hate those tyres, as soon as it’s a little wet, they are fckg slippy. Next time I’ll go for a set of Michelin Scorcher 11.

Hello all !
Today I finalized the last settings and here is the monster BO883R !
Black paint has a mirror effect, and a large BO883R is painted on the tank which you can only see in bright light or darkness with the right lighting (ghost effect). I voluntarily designed it with a retro 80's font because I'm a fan of this era.
Also worked a lot on the ECM relocation, that is why you can see the engine block free of plastics !
I made a ton of other smaller mods.
