All ready got the full length rods from an 04.... I put Progressive Mono Tubes in that

Short slugs I have no issue with, especially with my support mods ..,

Will probably use those 11.5 inch damper rods.... or potentially just extend the ones I have... think that might be a possibility with a bit of lathe work.

Default Changed Tranny lube

I got this bike last month

Forwards went to a friend so I have no pegs yet except passenger and no rear brake. Engine braking!

Anyway, I changed out the tranny oil-it was really bad and the magnet was full of filings

Used Ironmike's clutch adjustment method. Worked fine.

Bel ray sportster primary lube, no oil thread pls. It's good oil

Just a few minutes riding around neutral finds itself and she snicks between gears

I am enjoying this

Skim coated the new sport bob tank and took the bike out over the weekend using the old stripped tank. The shorty E carb needed some tuning ride time.

I recently found a great deal on the stinkBay for the Screamin' Eagle Fully Adjustable Front Fork Kit P/N 45400176. The ad stated that the kit was missing the spring collars. Picked it up for less than 50% MSRP shipped to Texas, so I'd figure I would give it a try.

(Blue painter's tape was added to keep my wedding ring from scratching the fork tubes)

I had to make my own spring collars as they were missing from the kit. Also, had to order 4 spring joints P/N 45980-96 (large washers that go above and below the spring collar) as those supplied were too large to fit into the fork tube.

After installation...

Only have 50 miles on the kit so far, but it is a night and day difference from the stock XL1200C front suspension. IMHO, not sure I would recommend the kit at its listed MSRP from HD ($699.95) as there are other options at that price point that might/could be a better option.

Just wondering. What might you have gone with instead? The Ohlins NIX-22 ?

I went and picked up a set of 1" lowering blocks from DK Customs. That put those 13.5" shocks right where I want them. Took the bike for a ride today and the difference between the old and these Progressive 412s is amazing. One thing when I measured my old shocks, there was almost a 1/4" difference in the length, so I'd say they were shot. I think they were 12" originally but they only measured about 11.5+". Anyway, I'm very pleased with the ride and the looks.
