No CB’s on this rig. All in line fuses.

The three posts I have on the ignition are B, S, I

That’s my fear. My circuits worked fine before I replaced my ground wire. I could turn on power, switch from hi— low and even engage the starter. Now, the solenoid and starter were not turning the engine ( that’s a different problem) so I thought it could be the solenoid. Measured amps on the solenoid and it was even pulling one amp. Called the shop and asked for a new solenoid. Meanwhile, I asked if he could make me a New ground wire cause the old one looked crusty. Got the new ground wire.. I put a brand new ground wire from the frame to the NEGETIVE post on the batt. Wanted to test it before installing a new solenoid ( to be sure). Then voila. I start blowing fuses when switching from high to low. If I don’t touch the hi low switch I can engage the starter and solenoid ( still doesn’t turn engine) but the fuses don’t blow. Soon as it’s switched to hi. All three go poof.

Without being there to see how things are connected, it's hard to help.

I'm not trying to insult you, but when you put the starter and solenoid unit back on the bike, you connected the battery positive cable to the long, large solenoid stud, right? And the short, large solenoid stud is connected to the starter motor post? I don't know what would happen if these are reversed.

Somehow, when you're switching the lights to high beam, you're grounding the circuits well enough to blow the fuses, and that's a lot of current. I don't see how just replacing the cable from the battery negative cable to the frame could cause this. And I don't understand how the high/low light switch could be connected in any way to the starter relay and solenoid circuits.
