I suspect somebody, I don't know who, is posting Sportsters for cheap money all over the place in order to drive all the prices down, but I'm not sure why...

Just like most things you get something nice, like Craigslist and somebody has to screw it up.

The ad for this bike shows up quite often all over the US.

You will notice it is usually tagged for removal in a day or so.

Then they just re-post it.

They aren't trying to do anything with values they just want to scam someone.

I see ads like this for boats, cars, trucks, motorcycles, heavy equipment, etc.

Something way under priced.

Some of them even use broken English in the listing so they are probably not even in the US.

Just another way to get your personal information, phone number, email, home address.

Or I'm guessing they hope someone is foolish enough to send them money.

Knowing the area. Expect to haggle about the price. Knowing spanish is a plus.

Rokytnji,
I posted that ‘79 add back in January and it still shows the same print and price. That’s what they want - and they’ll just keep posting until some slob forks over the cash for a “classic” that just needs some TLC.

If they would take it, I’d give them $1800 and spend some quality time getting it ready for my retirement next year.
Maybe, if I’m bored after retiring, I’ll go set the timing for them and see if it really runs perfect.😏

Sounds like you checked it out. I am quite hip on the peculiarities of living in the south west and haggling with Hispanic sellers.

You got certain formalities to go through to get the seller to like you, then they bend a little on the terms of sale.

Unless the seller is like you say.

That orange 80 is a good deal, man. Glad it's not near me. I don't want to rearrange my garage any more.
