I went to my seat demo dealer and put a Sundowner on my 2017 XL1200C, in place of my LePera Daytona Daddy Long Legs. The Sundowner does sit me farther back, just like my Lepera does but also sits me higher up. It's thicker. Does feel pretty nice, definitely cushier. I didn't change my rear seat mount and go for a ride with it. I may go back and do that before it gets cold. Seems the demo program lets you keep the seat up to 5 days. The demo seats have "demo" all over them in orange letters so they come back. It's a pretty neat program.

I got my Sundowner Solo before I changed handle bars.
With the Sundowner, the stock bars were a bit low, causing me to put more weight on my hands than I wanted. For me this translated to excessive shock to my upper body on the rough roads which are everywhere in my neck of the woods. It also made counter steering more difficult.
I switched the stock bars out twice and settled on the HD Tallboys.
For me at 5'10" and 30" inseam, the Sundowner/Tallboy combination works very well.

I noticed that too. The seat sits you higher so the bars become, relatively, lower. Two things I noticed most just sitting: The bar / seat relationship change and that the Sundowner seat is cushy.

That's what this thread was all about. The solo Sundowner for the late Sportsters does move you back. There was conflicting info.

There is considerable mass under braking in corners.
