Default I finally learned how to work the system!

We've all heard of people living off the system and wondered how they did it. Well, I finally learned how and it feels fantastic!

As many of you know, I was a Comcast technician who was let go after 30 years and was unjustly let go. Shortly after, I got another job but was laid off this passed Monday as he is selling the company or whatever. So here we go....yet again!

30 minutes after I get the news, I regroup and do what I know has to be done. I bow my head in shame and head back to Unemployment Office.

A lady sets me up at a computer and tells me once I am done, to get back in line and she will go over everything. I do my computer work and get back in line as told. So as I am standing there, I decide to fire off one resume to a company I knew (and interviewed with 2 years prior). Mind you...it is Monday.

Tuesday morning: I wake up to a voicemail, text message and email saying they would like to interview me on Wednesday.

Wednesday: Knocked that interview out da' park!

Thursday: Hired for more money!

(Total down time....4 days)

So that was how I beat the system

You didn’t work the system, you used your brain. Congrats and good luck!

Congrats. I went into work a week ago and got a $2.60 raise. With a position change and yearly increase I'm up 15.5% this year. Kid got $3.20 and is making his age at 22 after being there for two years which makes me happy. Seems the powers that be finally decided to give working wages for skilled labor. That and the skilled labor has been leaving and none applying for the jobs that are open. Sad state of affairs really.
