The "slop" in the kicker shaft bushing that the Dr recommends isn't that much. He says .015, that's about the thickness of a matchbook. To compare that to mm, 1mm is about .040. He says keep it loose but not like a 2 cent Vegas hooker loose.

The 77-79 shaft and cam gear are different because they had the fold out kicker that was needed to clear the exhaust. The change was needed so that once you made it to 6 o'clock on your kick that the pedal didn't fold up on you. That would hurt
