Default oil pressure sensor worth cleaning?

I have the oil filter off, and am tidying up the front area of the frame. I pulled the regulator/rectifier to clean all the sludge and crap off it and the wiring. While I am in there, is it a good idea or a bad idea to pull the oil pressure sensor to give it a cleaning? This bike has only 4500 miles on it, and the oil is pretty dirty, so I assume it sat in a garage for a long time. No idea when the oil was changed last time.

If it goes off after you fire up, then it's working.
Doesn't require maintenance.
Just make sure the wire isn't loose.

i would leave it alone. People have cracked their cases installing the oil pressure sensor and not realizing they have NPT threads, which are tapered. Too much tightening and you can cause a crack, depending on how your sender is mounted. As HS says, if it works, don't xxxxxx with it.
