NLXL: Funny you say that, My Wife calls it my Evel Knievel Stunt Cycle now.

I haven't updated this thread because the Wheel is bent.

After i got the old tire and tube off i spun it on the Axel and a pair of jackstands, I found a huge wobble almost exactly across from the valve stem! Glad i didn't get the new tire and tube on before i noticed because the wheel looked straight to the eye. So now it will be a few weeks till i can afford to get a new wheel.

On the Bright side i learned the ZIPTIE tire change method and will never try it with spoons again. Its amazing how much easier it is to take the tire off and install it with soap, water and Zipties!

I have been away from motorcycles for 27 years, I just bought this bike in march and I have a lot of catching up to do, but once it gets in your blood its there for life i think.

I found some nice 1/2" ziptie with the tang that can be pushed to release the tie.

On a sportster wheel, I use ten ties. 24'' is the length I suggest for 150 wide tire; long enough for a good tug grab.

I also lost my spoons.

If I may ask, where did you get that round chrome air cleaner? I want one like that for my 2006 1200L, which is almost the same bike but has a 19" cast front wheel. I like the looks of wire spoke wheels, but gave up on tube type tires a long time ago.

Its a Wyatt Gatling 7 inch air cleaner kit. I found it on Ebay.

Its made to look like the classic H/D air cleaners, its got the bar and shield logo but the name and copyright symbol are missing. i figure if it starts pitting, i'll swap it out with a real vintage cover.

I also had to order the Mounting Bracket separately but it was an easy install.

I hear you about the tube tires, i might have invest in a set of mags for spares!

Ok thanks I found the air cleaner. Trying to decide between that one or the S&S Super.
