Hopefully someone deciding on what bike to buy won't be influenced by this video. It purports to show the quality of the manufacturing process of various makes by the cleanliness of the oil. I'm not convinced.

So about 3-1/2 oz of oil is taken from bikes that haven't had the first oil change. Consider the sample size for this test. 3-1/2 oz. of oil from 1 bike, 1 model from each manufacturer out of hundreds or thousands made.

Though it's the oil from before the first change we don't know how many miles are on it. Could be 10 or 50 or 1000? Is it from an engine that has passed it's recommended break in period or just gone around the block once?

What engine parts are made from lead composites? Plain bearings? Maybe.

For me the video just shows the importance of making the first oil change before a lot of miles.

And it could be just showing the quality of the oil filter.

I can agree on that: Many factors remain that have not been taken into account. Maybe it's less if the engine has passed it's break in period? Questions...questions...

too small a sample lot, not enough information to have a ton of validity.

So many errors just in the way the samples were collected.

How many do you think handled everything in a sanitary manner? How did they confirm mileage on the bikes? How do we know there was no previous oil change? Where from the oil drain pain was the sample taken?

Can't believe someone gets paid to do junk science like this. That YouTube channel is pretty iffy, seen him do some descent stuff and some that's pretty useless, like that one.

sometimes, we need a good laugh so youtube does have its advantages.
i got a kick out of a guy trying to save money renting a trencher so he concocted one from a 3 wheeler.

Much like the blogs I get in my news feed about cars and bikes. Grammatical and spelling errors along with non-factual/poorly researched information. More so with the classics. As long as they get paid.
