When you measured the regulator resistance, did you do it off the bike like the instructions say to? Have you verified the regulator has a good connection to ground?

I took a reading off the bike. The instructions were a little confusing but I figured since it was looking for a measurement in ohms, I set It to the ohmmeter.
I have read that I should Be checking the diodes on the diode setting though.
The ground I had it attached to while it was on the bike was good. I verified It with my multimeter.

In the diode setting, the meter supplies a DC voltage to forward bias the diode. The reading on the meter display will be in DC volts. Usually around .6 VDC for one diode.

But the alternator is functioning and the installed washer is preventing the oil from seeping.
Is there a preferred regulator/rectifier anyone would suggest?
V-Twin list the replacement as # 32-0667

Got it all sorted.
Checked the diodes on the regulator/ rectifier and they were bad.
The supplier said they’d replace it for a new( functioning) one.
I pulled a thread or two out of the alternator taking it in and out to check clearance in the washer. I was Able to helicoil the alternator and mount it with no issues.
I appreciate all the advice.
