Comments, answers and responses:

The tank isn't flat that is just the lighting and reflections in the photo. Actually that tank has survived all the crashes and drops since it has been put on.... I'm sure I'll dent it tomorrow now.

The Sporty is an 08 883L. I'm a big fan of Hammer Performance. I'm a go-to guy for mechanical stuff and when anyone with a sportster wants to go faster, I tell them to go to Hammer Performance and then help them install the kit. I've just been working on other stuff on my bike so haven't gotten to internals till now. I'm interested in doing something a little different than anything I see on their site though so I'll be discussing things with them.
As far as all the 'extra' I've got fast bikes, and access to really fast bikes. The sporty is my daily, all that extra makes it easier to deal with on a daily basis.

Location, I'll just say western TN. I'd rather not put to much personal info out there.
The bags are for everything including groceries, now I don't have to carry a giant backpack everywhere.

Parts rundown on the bike:

Lets start at the front I'm a big fan of Avon tires so I've got their sport touring tires on front and back(cobra's I think...) They Come in a light and a heavy load rating, I've got the heavies.

The forks... I've got the right side slider for dual brakes, haven't actually done the brakes yet though.
I got the longest OEM fork tubes and damper tubes to raise my front end and get some travel and lean angle.
I run "E" fork oil in it and I run it high, I want to say 5 inches from the top when compressed? Don't remember right now.
I run a racetech 1.0kg/mm front spring with the PVC spacer cut flush with the top of the tubes when fully extended. You can see from the zip tie on the fork that I almost bottom out when landing (did I mention that I get air born?).

Braided line up front with stock... everything else.

The engine guard is one I stole from a friends bike since he was selling it(the bike). It came with the pegs.

Gauge is The HD tach/speedo combo.

Bars are Tall Boys from HD, with Kuryakyn Iso's.

I have a Powervision on the left side and a Ciro phone holder with a USB charging port built into it, on the right side.

4.5 gallon tank.

The intake is screamin beagle stage 1, going to put a K&N E-3040 on it once I get time to make a cover for it... don't want the filter exposed.
I know (and don't doubt) that the hammer performance style intake is better from a performance perspective but I actually want the the head breather vents that curve around into the venturi. I was once in a rally car that punctured the oil pan mid run, but didn't lose a drop of oil till the race was finished and the car was turned off, then the oil poured out everywhere. Vacuum on the crank case is good. It's not a race bike. As a side note when we tore down that engine everything was covered in a thin black layer.... that wiped off. Of course every surface in that engine was polished mirror smooth so that might have helped. Either way oil coatings might not be best for performance but they do keep things well preserved.

Exhaust is a Patriot defender. Based partly on the fact that it makes such great power across the board(based on testing by Hammer Performance), but also because I like to close it up and go into 'stealth(ish)' mode when desired. You might have noticed the choke cable on the right side pulley cover. It's for my exhaust choke .

Seat is a Mustang Vintage Touring Wide with the backrest. Not using the backrest right now as the seat is new and like to do things one at a time. Trying to see if the seat its self is the improvement before I give the backrest a try. I had the narrower Mustang Vintage solo. But I'm a wide dude and it just wasn't working. So far the wide is working great.

Fender is the HD bobtail that isn't sold anymore. Found one on ebay and had it painted. It was kind of a pain in the ass to get one since my ECU is sitting in the front of the rear fender and most of the ones I found didn't have the hole for the tray. It was the first time I'd ever not painted something myself. I won't be doing that again, cost more AND worse job... at least it saved my time.

Shocks are the longer of the two OEM air shocks. Also the older lower pressure ones. My understanding is the new higher pressure ones don't have the dual internal springs, just one. I wanted the dual springs in case I lost air in them. The fluid is whatever came in them and seems to work fine for now. I run 6 psi in them. Which is a little high but It keeps me from feeling the back end bottom out when landing. Though when checking the zip tie back there it is still bottoming out. I need to get the rear end raised up to where I had it with my 14 inch shocks. I'll either make a bracket to move the lower shock mount forward or look at getting a taller wheel/tire combo.

Those giant bags are knock off OEM Harley bags I got on amazon for $120ish and came painted, but with no hardware. The hardware is knock off kit from ebay. I didn't want to spend much money on them in case I didn't like them or destroy them. The mounting bracket/kit is from Sumax. I am very happy with it. From the pictures it seems to mount higher than the other kits, and it let me retain my OEM passenger pegs(oh yea... I added passenger pegs too). So far other stuff scrapes before the bags do so I'm happy with that. I stood on one of the brackets as soon as I had them tight and they held my 205lbs, and that was before I installed the cross brace support which runs behind the license plate assembly. I did have to relocate my turn signals.

Under the primary cover I've installed a front sprocket from a 1200 because A. I wanted to get the RPM's down, B. every gear ratio in your drive train multiplies the torque on every component after it.
I figure this way once I start putting down some serious twist to the back tire, it will be easier on the clutches and everything else. Speaking of which... I have Alto Carbonite clutches in there and removed that rivet/grenade plate. I did have a "30% more" heavy duty spring in there. I drove it to the end of the street, then turned around and pulled it back in. I put in one of those easy pull ramp plates in and drove it to a friends house. Then pulled the whole thing back apart and and put the 883 spring back in. It actually grabs pretty hard with the Carbonite clutches and the 883 spring. I use Mobile 1 V-twin in it. Not only does it hold well, I can hold the bike at full throttle on the 7k rpm rev limiter and drop the clutch and it almost stalls the engine(no power ). I'll probably put a 1200 spring in it when I do the engine upgrade.

I put one of those analog thermometers oil caps on.

That's all I can think of for stuff added/modified on the bike. I do my own tuning with the powervision. So I suppose there are some mods in the computer too.
