Default Experts Help - Factory OEM Tachometer 2001 883 Custom

Greeting Fellow Forum Members,

The bike is a 2001 XL883 Custom pictured below.

(1). I would like to add the factory HD Chrome Tachometer with the factory chrome mounting bracket that bolts on to the factory riser stem opposite to the Speedometer as in the second picture below.

(2). Does anyone make a chrome bracket that puts both Speedo and Tach on the top side by side even if the tach is not the same size?

(3). Does anyone make a Chrome tach addition/relocation bracket for my bike?

Any additional information such as instructions on how to hook the tach up, part numbers and sources for the purchase is a huge help.

If anyone knows the part numbers and where I could order them it would be a tremendous help and very much appreciated.

Best regards,

FiftySixer

Default Experts Help - Factory OEM Tachometer 2001 883 Custom

Have you considered just removing both and installing a tach/speedo combo gauge? I went with this and a relocation kit from joker.

Thanks Bryan1976,

Man that's a slick set up, a bit pricy but really slick looking. I appreciate the lead. I'm always trying to do things on the cheap.

As a graphic artist and web design guy I do a lot of bartering to get things done on my bike - with I might ad - great success there.

Its why I never make any money lol. I'm working to support my bike jones.

Best regards,

FiftySixer

I pieced together the factory tach mount kit for the Custom model when I did mine. It mounts the 2 gauges low where your speedo is now, side by side.
Harley part #67359-96B if you want to google it.

Default DIY solution

This is houw i Did mine:

-switched and turned mij risers 180 degrees,
-Took out orientation tab from inside my speedo-housing with some pliers
-Switched speedo housing upside down
- Remounted speedo
-Switched my 2 indicator lamps in the "idiot lights unit" so right is right and left left again...

Thanks Very Much C1Skout, tbn,

I appreciate the efforts you guys made to help.

I got pissed off trying to trick out the stock front end so I went in the same direction I did with my old bike but way better and nicer. This time around it will be a really nasty bitch with close to 100 rwp when its all said and done.

I just spent a pile with TC Brothers Choppers (Customer Service that is a solid TWENTY on a TEN SCALE!)and bought an Moto Iron +2" Springer, with all the fixings, 21x3.25 front spoke wheel, chrome moto Iron caliper and rotor, Springer head lamp, Moto Iron Shock kit,

I have everything but the:

* headlamp bracket
* fender mounts
* front fender
* Brake cable (braided stainless

SO NOW>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I'm looking for a nice set of Chrome Mini Tachometer and Tachometer like I had on my old bike. The ones I had before were cheap shits. I'm looking for something better built and better looking if I can find it.

I'm dropping in a Twin Tech nose cone ignition with Single Fire Coil set up.

Something similar but better to what I had on my old bike pictured below.
