Thanks IXL2RELAX....edited the posts in alignment with Forum policies. Please excuse the oversight.

Good news - I found a brand new OEM fender - Ill have to get it repainted because its some funky factory purple but new NOS in the original box.

My next question - is the installation kit for these fenders any different than the kits or components that are used to install the stock fenders?

I'm now hunting for the components to mount the tail light under the fender.

Best regards,

FiftySixer

I put that fender on my 2000 and just used the fasteners I had, the tailight was no problem.

Default Just Nailed Two NOS tail Light Brackets!

Just nailed two NOS Tail Light Mounting Brackets for the New NOS Bobtail Fender!

Getting There!

I am taking the fender to my painter in two more weeks.

I'm going to completely build up a new plug and play rear fender unit then just install it!

I'm going to have a lot of stuff to trade or sell once all the new parts go on the new bike.

A mint condition chromed out stock front end with bars, lights, forks, fender and a custom 21" 60 spoke front wheel. Almost new looking.

Then add to the above - a complete stock rear fender and a two up seat (Nice one) factory pipes (mint), heads, cyls, carb, manifold, ignition, coils, and some other stuff. All the engine stuff is stock 2001 XL 883 Custom with a whisker over 12,000 miles on it. Just looking at the bike they way I bought it as its still sitting right now you could tell the guy who originally owned it really loved this bike. When I bought it and they delivered it to my house, it was literally in showroom condition.
