Great advice guys. I’ll keep u posted. Hoping to get this bike back on the road before too long. Starting to cool off here.
Part of me feels like I’m overthinking this but then again I want to get it right. So bear with me and the questions.
The guides were all tight.
Replacing all the valves at the same time as the guides is good advice so I’ll do that.
As for pistons I was on the Wiseco website and noted the 20 over piston sets come with rings. To my amateur eye that looks like the right rings no?
Price for Part #4011P2 is $138 per piston and that includes the rings. I am thinking these are good quality.

The wiseco pistons will come with the correct rings, wrist pin and pin locks.

In other brands it's possible to buy rings and pistons separately but personally I would hesitate to do that. Not all aftermarket pins are the same length and the locks used should match the pin and lock grooves. It's best to buy pistons with everything included.

Wiseco pistons are forged and are stronger than the cast stock pistons, but good quality cast pistons are fine for stock rebuilds. Wisecos cost more and are about 18 grams heavier than the OEM pistons but they are good quality.

JCC are possibly the best cast pistons available. I'm on my second set. The first set were badly beaten from being fit too tight before I bought the bike. See my thread "take your top off".
